Hey Liz - here are a few observations off of the top of my head. You are on track by building a content site, but you are putting the content on a different domain, which doesn't benefit the shopping domain traffic. So your efforts are being diluted by using two different domain names. Secondly, it looks like the content site at bebestages.com is a blog - if that's the case, then keep it in a blog format, just perhaps move it over to your main domain. When you have it set up, be sure to claim your blog in all of the blog directories such as Technorati and Bloglines. Additionally, use Technorati tags extensively; a full third of my incoming referred traffic comes from technorati tagged content. Lastly, for some longer-term success, put a plan in place to start a email marketing program. This is going to be one of your best sources of revenue long-term. One more thought, you may want to add to your product line by diversifying the products you offer via affiliate links. That way you can become more of a resource to your customers, and at the same time build up a new revenue stream for your site. Does this answer your question, or do you now have more questions?! ;)
